WHAT WE BELIEVE

The Bible is the inspired word of God, and it the authority for what we teach, worship and practice.

Salvation is only possible because of what Jesus Christ did for us. (Hebrews 2:9)

The scriptures teach us that salvation is a free gift of God, and that there is nothing we could ever do to earn the gift. (Ephesians 2:8-9)

To accept the gift of salvation and become a Christian, God asks us to com to Him with faith in Jesus Christ (Hebrews 11:6), turn from our past life to a God-honoring life (Acts 17:30), and publicly confess our faith and devotion to Jesus as Lord (Matthew 10:32). Then, when we are baptized (immersed in water), our sins are forgiven, we receive the gift of the Holy Spirit, and God adds us to His church (Acts 2:38, 47).

When we have come in faith and obedience to Jesus Christ with special help from the Holy Spirit, we begin a new life with changed purpose and priorities. This is what is referred to as being “born again” (John 3:3-5, Romans 6:3-7, 8:9-17).

Jesus Christ is the head of the church and as such, we desire to follow only His leading. Congregations of the churches of Christ are autonomous and do not have any central headquarters. Our congregation is directed and shepherded by elders, who have been selected by the members as servants and leaders.
